<p>Position Overview: Work collaboratively with all departments to effectively coordinate and integrate quality management and compliance with regulatory requirements and company practices. Recovery Centers of America (RCA) employees must adhere to internal guidelines, and the organization must conform to governmental regulations as well. The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for assisting in all Quality Management and Compliance areas as needed.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist with developing and maintaining programs, policies, and practices to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with TJC/CARF, Federal, State, and local regulatory standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with completion of new and existing facility licensing applications.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the team with researching laws and regulations that might affect the organizations policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the team with conduct monitoring of the organizations operations in order to determine compliance with applicable rules and regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with mock audits of all RCA facilities to ensure procedures are in place to successfully pass any and all regulatory, state, federal or payer surveys.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Patient Safety and Risk Team with Incident reports, including but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Receives incident reports and other information regarding occurrences in the facilities, such as quality assurance outliers or variations, and collates such information systematically to permit analysis pursuant to risk management policy and procedure</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in reviewing incidents received through the Incident Application system, analyzing for risk level and for external reporting requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Appropriately elevates all high-risk/sentinel incidents, adverse drug events and incidents requiring external reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Appropriately elevates those incidents with claims potential; reporting any serious event involving actual or potential injury to patients, visitors or employees</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes data manipulation and spreadsheet capabilities to assist in identifying risk exposure trends and reports to Risk Programs Manager</p> </li><li> <p>May have on-call responsibility</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with answering internal and external plan of corrections including but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Assist facility leadership at all sites in development of any and all plans of correction whether they are generated from an external monitoring agency or from internal monitoring conducted by the Compliance Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor completion of all Plans of Correction to ensure they are completed and submitted on or before due date outline.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure appropriate follow up and any measurements of success indicated on the plans are conducted and reviewed by leadership for ongoing compliance monitoring.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with medical record audits as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with fulfilling medical record requests as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Knowledge and Job Skills:</p> <p>Ability to independently recognize high risk high volume processes and apply analytic skills to assure quality outcomes</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of local, state, and federal Mental Health and Substance Abuse regulations </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Proficiency in planning, coordinating and implementing patient and staff safety procedures </li><li>Good judgment and decision-making abilities </li><li>Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills </li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Interest in continuous learning and a commitment to staying informed on regulatory changes </li><li>Talent for leading and facilitating group and team meetings </li><li>Attention to detail and analytical skills </li><li>Ability to maintain a calm, professional demeanor under pressure </li></ul> <p>Personal Qualifications: Mature tact and judgment in dealing with patients, families and staff and in performing position responsibilities. Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA, federal and state drug and alcohol statutes, and other applicable regulations. Dependable. Trustworthy. Able to handle crisis situations. Organizational and time management ability. Ability to work amid constant distraction. While it is intended to accurately reflect the position activities and requirements, management reserves the right to modify, add or remove duties and assign other duties as necessary.</p> <p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing or other Compliance related field is preferred or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a healthcare environment. </li><li>Experience with regulatory and accrediting bodies and their requirements as they apply to Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment required. </li></ul> <p>Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected.</p>
