<p>As a Hardware Electrical Engineer at Meta, you will design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for a wide range of applications, from next-generation consumer hardware to large-scale infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams-including mechanical, optical, firmware, software, and manufacturing experts-to deliver impactful solutions. Your work may span the full product or system lifecycle, from early prototyping and feasibility studies to large-scale deployment. You will be part of an environment that values technical quality, rapid iteration, and creative problem-solving.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, and/or equivalent industry experience </li><li>8+ years of experience in electrical design, including system-level architecture and integration </li><li>Demonstrated technical leadership in at least one electrical engineering domain (e.g., power, display, sensors, infrastructure, high-speed interfaces, analog/mixed-signal) </li><li>Documented experience delivering products or systems from concept through prototyping, validation, and mass production or large-scale deployment </li><li>Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams and mentoring engineers </li><li>Proficiency with industry-standard design, simulation, and analysis tools (e.g., Cadence, Altium, SPICE, MATLAB, or similar) </li><li>Experience communicating technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., design reviews, technical specifications, project updates) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) </li><li>Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews) </li><li>Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies </li><li>Experience characterizing power consumption, battery run time, and battery charging/discharging curve at each NPI (New Product Introduction) build </li><li>Experience collecting power measurements for weekly Software builds and drive power consumption optimization cross-functionally </li><li>Demonstrated experiencing leading analog and power system architecture, charging architecture, chipset selection, and system integration for the battery powered product </li><li>Experience creating power models to estimate battery day of use, power circuit design, simulation, validation, and characterization across multiple products, ensuring their successful delivery </li><li>Proficiency in generating design documentation, perform schematic capture and power delivery network simulation both pre and post board layout, prototype bring-up, and design validation </li><li>Effective at root-cause analysis and problem solving technical issues during new product development and support in-field escalations </li><li>Experience working closely with CM/JDM (Contract Manufacturer / Joint Development Manufacturer) resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product </li><li>Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams such as industrial design, architecture, product design and supply chain </li><li>Experience evaluating and enabling innovative solutions for cost, size, efficiency, safety, and reliability </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead the electrical development of highly complex systems or multiple subsystems, driving technical direction and architecture </li><li>Define and drive electrical architecture, system integration, and technical strategy for major projects </li><li>Lead cross-functional design reviews, resolve technical conflicts, and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines </li><li>Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes, or methodologies to improve system/product performance, reliability, and features </li><li>Oversee hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, deployment, or operational readiness at scale </li><li>Evaluate and influence vendor and partner solutions, ensuring alignment with Meta's requirements and long-term strategy </li><li>Mentor and coach engineers at all levels </li><li>Operate autonomously, set direction for teams, and manage priorities across multiple projects or workstreams </li><li>Collaborate globally across distributed teams, influencing cross-organization initiatives and technical strategy </li><li>Champion operational clarity, compliance, and specialized requirements, driving continuous improvement and best practices </li></ul> <p>About Meta</p> <p>Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
