<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As the Risk Manager, you will manage risk and compliance with regulatory authority for MMHI. MMHI is surveyed by the Division of Quality Assurance (DQA) for compliance with Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS); and is also accredited under Joint Commission (JCAHO). You will also:</p> <ul> <li>monitor all accreditation programs to ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, coordinate and implement safety and risk management programs, and conduct facility inspections to ensure compliance. </li><li>assess learning needs of staff, arrange for and assist with safety related training for both institutions, and serve as the contact person on property insurance claims. </li><li>work with both facilities as part of the quality improvement/quality assurance teams to assure compliance with health and life safety regulations. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position may be filled at the entry or senior level. Level of position will be determined based on the qualifications of the selected candidate at the time of hire.</p> <p>The starting salary for the Risk Management Specialist is between $30.00 and $34.00 per hour (approximately $62,400 and $70,720 per year), depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 07/04.</p> <p>The starting salary for the Senior level is between $34.00 and $38.00 per hour (approximately $70,720 and $79,040 per year), depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. The pay schedule/range is 07/03.</p> <p>A 12-month probationary period is required for both levels. Pay for current or former state employees is set based upon the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants will be required to allow the DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by MMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.</p> <p>This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle. In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy, which are:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid driver's license, </li><li>Must have a minimum of two years non-probationary licensed driving experience with a regular (Class D) driver's license, </li><li>Must be 18 years of age. </li></ul> <p>Additionally, your driving record MUST NOT reflect any of the following conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years, </li><li>Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months, </li><li>Suspension or revocation of driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have both of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with safety and risk management principles and practices in a commercial setting. </li><li>Experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities (e.g., responding to requests for information, providing tours, etc.). </li><li>Experience working in environments where customer needs vary by risk level, acuity, or regulatory requirement. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with safety and risk management principles and practice in a healthcare setting. </li><li>Experience preparing for a survey or evaluation from DQA and CMS. </li></ul> <p>The letter of qualifications is limited to one (1) page.
