<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Newmark's West Coast Investment Sales team-led by Kevin Shannon-seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director of Finance to oversee analytics and underwriting for one of the most active investment sales platforms in the country. The team has closed over $75 billion in institutional sales and structured financings and has maintained the #1 market share for office sales in Greater Los Angeles for four consecutive years. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced team and work directly on landmark transactions with a best-in-class group of professionals.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Underwriting Oversight: Lead the financial underwriting process for a high volume of commercial transactions, with a focus on institutional office and mixed-use assets. </li><li>Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and allocate work across a team of analysts; ensure appropriate staffing based on bandwidth and expertise. </li><li>Quality Control: Review and refine financial models, broker opinions of value (BOVs), and offering memorandum financials to ensure precision and strategic alignment. </li><li>Broker & Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with brokers and clients to collect due diligence, refine assumptions, and articulate pricing recommendations. </li><li>Process Optimization: Develop scalable systems and best practices to improve workflow, accuracy, and collaboration. </li><li>Hands On Underwriting: Step in to underwrite complex or high-priority transactions when necessary. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience & Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years of direct real estate underwriting experience </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field </li><li>Advanced proficiency in ARGUS Enterprise and Excel-based financial modeling </li><li>Prior experience managing or mentoring junior staff preferred </li><li>Strong grasp of valuation, cash flow modeling, accounting, and credit fundamentals </li></ul> <p>Key Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills </li><li>Meticulous attention to detail and data integrity </li><li>Clear and confident written and verbal communication </li><li>Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously </li><li>Highly organized with strong time management </li><li>Consistently responsive and client-oriented </li><li>Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, work long hours and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized and conscientious </li></ul> <p>Skills, Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field </li><li>Minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry required. </li><li>Strong understanding of financial accounting, valuation methods, cash flow analysis, credit analysis, and real estate investment principles. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other real estate modeling tools a plus. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Dedication to building a career in the real estate industry with a focus on the multifamily sector. </li><li>Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks, work long hours and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized and conscientious. </li><li>Knowledge of the Southern California multifamily market is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 annually</p> <p>The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held.
