<p>Title of Position:</p> <p>Long-Term Substitute Music Teacher Elementary</p> <p>Work Year:</p> <p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Estimated Dates of Employment:</p> <p>March 17, 2026 - June 15, 2026</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>$200.00 per day</p> <p>Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:</p> <p>Directly is responsible to the Principal in matters related to the building. Jointly responsible to the Principal and the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.</p> <p>Statement of Duties:</p> <p>Responsible for instructional and general duties indicated by the Principal, Supervisor of Music, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Promote learning and growth of all students by providing high-quality instruction, authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student data, using data to improve instruction, continuously providing students with constructive feedback, and continuously refining learning objectives. Maintains instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective learning environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency. Effectively partners with families, caregivers, community members, and organizations to promote learning. Maintains an ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice as a professional educator.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Licensed as a Music Teacher (Grades K-5) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred but not required</p> </li><li> <p>Candidates for a position in Music Education must present evidence of training in the following areas:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Curriculum and methods for Music Education <p></p> </li><li> <p>Psychology in child and/or adolescent growth and development</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency as evidenced through transcript of undergraduate work in Music Education</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with directing a vocal ensemble</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of vocal pedagogy</p> </li><li> <p>Graduate work in Music Education preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Music Production preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with General Music Classes preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Awareness and knowledge of Discipline Based Arts Education processes</p> </li><li> <p>SEI Endorsement preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.</p> </li></ul> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>It is the policy of the Marlborough Public Schools not to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, national origin, color, homelessness, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or disability in its education programs, services, activities, or employment practices.</p>
