<p>Job Description:</p> <p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Full-Time Middle School STEM / Technology Teacher</p> <p>Certified Teacher</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Canterbury Public Schools is seeking a dynamic STEM / Technology Teacher at Dr. Helen Baldwin School. The successful candidate will work in a team environment to create deep, authentic, and inquiry-based learning experiences while integrating content for all students. We are seeking candidates who will be able to build positive relationships with students and staff, encourage and foster a culture of mutual respect, be an effective communicator and have a willingness to rethink education through innovation. And possess the ability to manage a rotating caseload of students across the school year.</p> <ul> <li>The Ideal Candidate will have Experience in a wide range of technology related areas including: </li><li>Design and deliver engaging STEM curriculum aligned with state and national standards for grades 5-8 </li><li>Develop and implement lessons that integrate science, technology, engineering, and math through project-based and experiential learning. </li><li>Incorporate digital tools, coding, robotics, and engineering design challenges into daily instruction. </li><li>Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners. </li><li>Use data-driven instruction to differentiate learning and assess student progress. </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to promote interdisciplinary STEM projects and initiatives. </li><li>Organize and supervise extracurricular STEM activities, such as science fairs, coding clubs, or robotics teams. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom events. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student performance and adhere to school policies and procedures. </li><li>Participate in professional development to stay current in STEM education best practices. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in STEM education, science, mathematics, engineering, or related field (Master's preferred). </li><li>Valid teaching certification in the appropriate subject area and grade level. </li><li>Demonstrated experience teaching STEM or related content at the middle school level. </li><li>Proficiency with educational technology, STEM software, and digital learning tools. </li><li>Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families. </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <ul> <li>Pay will be commensurate with experience, and educational level, and in accordance with the Canterbury Public Schools Collective Bargaining Agreement salary schedule.https://www.canterburypublicschools.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/Teachers-contract-7-1-2025-6-30-2028-.pdf </li></ul> <p>All completed documentation should be sent to:</p> <p>Chris Bitgood, Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Canterbury Public Schools</p> <p>45 Westminster Road</p> <p>Canterbury, CT 06331</p> <p>Email applications will also be accepted, provided all documents are scanned and included in the email.
