Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$66,000.00 - $101,325.00</p> <p>Overview The Head Football Athletic Trainer will lead the day-to-day management of the athletic medicine operation as it pertains to football student-athletes. In this position, they will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals providing medical care to intercollegiate athletes and will lead the football athletic medicine team, including other athletic trainers and athletic training student interns. The Head Football Athletic Trainer will also design and implement treatment and care plans to rehabilitate student-athletes, including post-operative patients, to improve performance, and safely return them to full activity levels. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Strong background in providing athletic training to varsity football athletes. 2. Strong communication skills both oral and written. 3. Ability to multi-task and work in fast-paced environment. 4. Demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population. 5. Dedicated, passionate and highly motivated. Ability to work evenings, weekends and occasionally travel.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Treats and rehabilitates athletes to return them to full activity levels. 2. Conducts pre-season screening and conditioning to prevent injuries during competitions 3. Administers first aid and emergency techniques; applies tape, bandages, braces and padding to injuries. 4. Recommends new or modified care treatment; documents treatments, referrals and injury reports. 5. Determines methods for educating both athletes and coaching staff on proper training techniques and modalities. 6. In conjunction with the team physician, determines when an athlete has completed a rehabilitation program and can resume an appropriate level of activity. 7. Assists team physician during clinical hours. 8. Assists team physician during clinical hours. 9. Travels with and/or oversees assigned varsity sports teams. 10. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's of Science Degree in Physical Therapy or Allied Health Sciences required and two years of experience as an Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of NCAA and Ivy League regulations. </li></ol> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements. Healthcare workers (HCW) are defined as university employees working a healthcare setting who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients, human research subjects or infectious materials including body substance, contaminated medical supplies, devices and equipment, surfaces, or air.
