You may be the right candidate for this or other open positions.</p> <p>New York Road Runners is an Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>About the Department</p> <p>The Public Relations team is one of the four public-facing verticals that makes up New York Road Runners' Public Affairs department-which also includes Government Affairs, Community Engagement and Impact. The Public Relations team proactively develops relationships with media outlets and influencers to drive impactful, qualitative and quantitative press coverage and exposure for NYRR as a New York City-based nonprofit, its mission-driven free youth programs and community initiatives, its 60+ adult and youth events (which includes annual signature events-TCS New York City Marathon, the United Airlines NYC Half and the RBC Brooklyn Half), while also elevating?the organization and its executives as industry leaders.</p> <p>About the Position</p> <p>Reporting to the Director Public Relations-with indirect reporting into the Chief Communications Officer and the Head of Public Relations-the Coordinator will temporarily join the department leading into the TCS New York City Marathon, from July through November. In this role, working 15-40 hours/week with hours increasing as the Marathon approaches, the Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating media credentials for the TCS New York City Marathon, liaising directly with media across the city, country, and globe. Additionally, the Coordinator will support the department in tracking and reporting media coverage, maintaining and growing media contact lists, and media operations.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as main point of contact for media credentials for the TCS New York City Marathon, from the application process through to credential distribution, to ensure all media on-site for the event are accommodated properly</p> </li><li> <p>Support monitoring and tracking of media coverage, clipping, and production of coverage updates and reports</p> </li><li> <p>Support with maintaining and updating the department's media contact lists; research new contacts and outlets via Muckrack</p> </li><li> <p>Support with NYRR's Media Runners program and press operations for the New Balance 5th Avenue Mile and TCS New York City Marathon</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in media relations, large-scale events, and/or credentialing preferred </li></ul> <p>Education & Certifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in English, Public Relations, communications, journalism or related field preferred </li></ul> <p>Skills and Attributes:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Excellent creative and critical thinking skills</p> </li><li> <p>Exceptional written and verbal communications skills</p> </li><li> <p>A collaborator with strong project management skills</p> </li><li> <p>Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Strong ability to multitask, meet and perform under tight deadlines, think clearly under pressure, and exercise good judgment</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)</p> </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to respond to media during weekends and evening hours as applicable</p> </li><li> <p>Passion for New York Road Runners' mission is a plus</p> </li></ul> <p>Hourly Rate: $30/hr</p> <p>NYRR requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.</p>
