<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Assistant Director assists the WIC Director in planning organizing, staffing, and managing operational and evaluation activities as assigned.</p> <p>Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assists with recruiting, interviewing, and recommending for hire new staff for the program. </li><li>Plans and implements training, including customer service, and provides on-going supervision of staff. </li><li>Ensures compliance in regards to State/Federal WIC standards and FHCW policies and procedures. </li><li>Handles special projects as assigned, and will order supplies/materials for the WIC program. </li><li>Monitors WIC operations and reports quality and compliance issues to WIC Director. </li><li>Develops performance improvement plan for quality issues with staff and WIC Director. </li><li>Ensures appropriate staffing levels by managing time-off requests. </li><li>Completes staff evaluations in a timely manner. </li><li>Monitors participant eligibility to ensure that quality of site visit results comply with state standards. </li><li>Reviews records and reports on participants on an ongoing basis. </li><li>Documents, reports, and investigates participant complaints. </li><li>Any and all other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Education Requirements:</p> <p>One of the following combinations of education and employment experience must be met in order to be considered for the position:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>And</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in health, human service or related field preferred. Four years of directly related experience and Associates degree may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.</p> <p>A minimum of 3 years closely related and relevant experience required. Experience in a leadership role or as a supervisor preferred.</p> <ul> <li>Massachusetts Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist or Registered Dietitian preferred. </li><li>Prior experience serving participants in a WIC Program preferred. </li><li>Bilingual in English and another language appropriate to the health center's patient population preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Reporting Relationship:</p> <p>Director of WIC</p> <p>Monday-Friday; 8:30am -5:00pm</p>
