<p>Greene County ESC Truancy Interventionist position</p> <p>We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Prevention Services Team starting in August of 2025. The Prevention Team's mission is to provide the most up-to-date preventive services to youth and adults in Greene County and surrounding areas. Truancy Intervention services are part of our Prevention continuum of care. In accordance with House Bill 410, which went into effect in April of 2017, the primary goal of these services is to reduce the number of students entering the juvenile justice system due to school absences by emphasizing early intervention and supportive measures. This position works with students, schools, parents/guardians/families, and community agencies to find ways to support students so that regular school attendance is possible. Truancy Intervention staff work collaboratively with Greene County school districts to eliminate the barriers keeping students from going to school.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum requirements include: Bachelor's degree in Social Services/Social work; able to qualify for an Ohio Department of Education & Workforce aide permit.</p> <p>Preferred qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>LSW/LPC license from the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, marriage and Family Therapy Board. </li><li>Background in education, social work, and/or criminal justice - specifically, with students in grades K-12 is preferred. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills </li><li>Excellent organizational and technology/computer skills, especially in Microsoft Excel </li><li>Ability to be flexible and professional in dealing with staff, stakeholders, partners, and students </li><li>Ability to be proactive in finding resources and partners to aide in supporting students </li><li>Strong and positive work history and attendance records </li><li>Must be a self-motivator who is adept at planning schedule and timelines. </li></ul> <p>General Duties and Tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Comply with GCESC policies and procedures. </li><li>Conduct, coordinate, and implement truancy intervention services and activities on behalf of the organization. </li><li>Establishes and maintains positive relationships with partner agencies and school districts </li><li>Participates in all necessary meetings and trainings </li><li>Ability to team with various people from various agencies and districts </li><li>For questions, please contact Kimi Kesling at kkesling@greeneesc.org </li></ul> <p>Reports to the Prevention Services Supervisor, Rachel Miller in the Mental Health Department at GCESC</p> <p>Salary commensurate with education and license.
