This role includes assisting with instructional activities, providing one-on-one or small-group support, and ensuring students' safety and well-being in the classroom and school environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Support classroom instruction by assisting students with learning activities and assignments. </li><li>Provide assistance with toileting, feeding, and lifting as needed to support students' individual needs. </li><li>Monitor and assist with students' safety and behavior during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks. </li><li>Implement teacher-designed accommodations and modifications to meet the needs of diverse learners. </li><li>Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to support students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and goals. </li><li>Maintain a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and participation. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or passing score on the Parapro Assessment required. </li><li>Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting is desirable. </li><li>Ability to lift and assist students with physical needs, including toileting and feeding. </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Stratford Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer and encourages candidates of all backgrounds to apply.</p>
