<p>Employment Date: Spring 2025 - 01/27/2025-05/16/2025</p> <p>Term of Employment: Adjunct, Non-renewable</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Instruct CULI160 - Back-of-House Kitchen Practicum - Course Description: An experiential learning course within a 'back of the house' culinary operation teaches students about the nuances of a busy kitchen. Practical workplace training is supported by an individualized learning plan.</p> <p>Teaching assignments may involve teaching day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses.</p> <p>Adjunct instructors will be expected to:</p> <ul> <li>Provide excellent teaching and instruction </li><li>Create, submit, and follow a syllabus that aligns with the course's Master Course Syllabus </li><li>Use the Learning Management System to provide course materials to students </li><li>Be available to students through office hours, timely grading, and responsive communication </li><li>Read and abide by the policies listed in the Teaching Manual </li><li>Submit all records by their respective deadline; including progress reports, student concern notices, and grades </li><li>Understand and enact mission and values of TC3, and the equity, diversity, justice and inclusion plan. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a similar/related program such as Hospitality Management or Food and Beverage Management. AAS in Culinary Arts and a minimum of 5 years working professionally and consistently may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Evidence of professional training and excellence in this profession is required. This can include certifications with American Culinary Federation, ServSafe Certifications, portfolios/videos of work, experience working at the executive chef or sous chef level, experience as private chef, caterer and or food business owner.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications: This position is preferred for individuals who are presently managing operations at Coltivare. Experience teaching in an accredited higher education institution, especially a community college, is preferred.</p> <p>Expected Hiring Salary Range:</p> <p>For Adjunct Faculty, rates are pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement between Tompkins Cortland Community College and the TC3 Adjunct Association. For each credit, entry pay rate is $1,065 - $1,123 dependent upon experience.</p> <p>Review of applicants to begin January 16, 2025 and is ongoing. NOTE: This is a part-time (Adjunct) faculty position. Adjunct positions are ongoing-recruitment pooled positions. Your materials will be retained in our active files and be considered on an as-needed basis. Candidates must currently reside or be willing to relocate to New York State at time of employment.
