<p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Low Incidence Summer School Coordinator</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Teachers will be employed to direct students and supervise educational aides in the district's Low Incidence Summer Progarm. Intervention will be offered for identified low incidence students. Teacher is responsible for providing the planning and implementation of recreational activities for a group of 8-10 students. Although teachers may indicate the grade level they prefer, the decision for assignment will be based on students' needs. Employment will be based on sufficient student enrollment.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Plan daily activities for autism students. </li><li>Provide for student differences through a variety of instructional modes and strategies, including small and large group instruction. </li><li>Develop and utilize instructional materials, media, and techniques appropriate to the ability level of students. </li><li>Complete program student report evaluation for students at the completion of the summer program. </li><li>Communicate with parents as needed. </li><li>Perform routine activities. </li><li>Complete other professional responsibilities as necessary and assigned. </li><li>Supervise educational aides and summer staff. </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as a role model for students in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values. </li><li>Maintain an appropriate personal appearance. </li><li>Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors or advanced degree. </li><li>Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching certificate, </li><li>Candidate with autism teaching experience preferred but will consider all applicants. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experience. </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with local district staff, community, parents, and students. </li><li>High personal and professional standards. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. </li><li>Van training as required or requested. </li><li>Possible interaction with unruly or angry children, or distraught adults. </li><li>Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, stretch, reach with hands and arms, stoop, crouch and kneel. </li><li>Frequent requirement to lift, carry, push and pull various items; for example, adaptive equipment, up to 25 lbs. </li><li>Possible requirement to lift children, restrain children, push wheelchairs or otherwise assist with ambulation. </li></ul> <p>NOTE: The above lists may not be ranked in order of importance.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Dates:</p> </li><li> <p>June 9-12</p> </li><li> <p>June 16-19</p> </li><li> <p>July 14-17</p> </li><li> <p>July 21-24</p> </li><li> <p>Salary for Summer School Teachers - $35.00 per hour.</p> </li><li> <p>Hours 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM</p> </li><li> <p>Can work 1, 2 3, or all 4 weeks</p> </li></ul> <p>Posted Internally: May 1, 2024</p> <p>Internal Application Deadline: May 12, 2024</p>
