Description</p> <p>Container Specialist Job Description</p> <p>Wage: $16-20/hour</p> <p>Shift: 30-39 hours per week. Regular season: 7am-3:30pm; Summer hours: 6am-2:30pm. Then we would love you on our team!</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain containers and hanging baskets in the Ashton Gardens. This includes watering, fertilizing, deadheading, planting new containers, and moving containers in and out of the garden. </li><li>Responsible for work within the Greenhouse. </li><li>Help Gardeners fertilize annual flower beds. </li><li>Assist teams with general gardening, weeding, flower deadheading, planting, pruning, cultivating and topdressing of flower and shrub beds. </li><li>Seasonal flower planting and removal along with pruning of perennials and ornamental grasses. </li><li>Keep garden beautiful by sweeping paths, collecting and emptying garbage, and raking. </li><li>Install holiday lights. </li><li>Exemplify Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values and Policies. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to identify plant watering needs. </li><li>Able to mix fertilizers according to directions and recognize insects and diseases on plant material. </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work independently. </li><li>Hard working with the ability to understand and carry out directions. </li><li>Manages time effectively and is productive without direct supervision. </li><li>Able to work in all types of weather conditions. </li><li>Has an eye for detail with specific attention to gardening standards. </li><li>Able to lift 50 lbs. </li><li>Be at least 16 years old. </li><li>Must pass a background check. </li></ul> <p>EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
