The O&M Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining plant systems and equipment, including instrumentation, mechanical, electrical, and control systems. This multi-skilled position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of the plant through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational duties in both field and control environments. A valid New Jersey Black Seal license is required for this role, as the technician will support both operational and boiler-related activities in compliance with state regulations.</p> <p>Key Project Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in combined cycle power plant operations or maintenance. </li><li>Multi-skilled experience across plant systems, including mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation support. </li><li>Hands-on experience with GE 7FA combustion turbines and MARK VI control systems is strongly preferred. </li><li>Must possess a valid New Jersey Black Seal license. </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Safely operate and maintain plant systems and equipment in accordance with company procedures and industry standards. </li><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment including instrumentation, control systems, electrical, and mechanical components. </li><li>Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance to maximize plant availability and reliability. </li><li>Support plant startup and shutdown activities from both the control room and in-field operations. </li><li>Monitor equipment conditions and perform diagnostic testing to identify and resolve performance issues. </li><li>Record operating parameters and data, responding to alarms and upset conditions as necessary. </li><li>Utilize test equipment to evaluate system performance and identify faults in electrical and I&C systems. </li><li>Perform mechanical work on turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, and rotating equipment. </li><li>Maintain compliance with environmental and safety policies and participate actively in the site's safety program. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently in a multi-discipline, team-oriented environment. </li><li>Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills. </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office and maintenance software systems (e.g., CMMS). </li><li>Understanding of dispatch protocols and power generation performance requirements. </li><li>Valid New Jersey Black Seal license required. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to safely perform electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation troubleshooting and repairs. </li><li>Familiarity with safety practices including LOTO, confined space entry, and PPE usage. </li><li>Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and control system documentation. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks involving walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces. </li><li>Ability to work around rotating equipment and pressurized systems. </li></ul> <p>Education / Experience:</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or GED is required. </li><li>Technical training or certifications in mechanical, electrical, or control systems preferred. </li><li>Hands-on experience with GE 7FA combustion turbines and MARK VI control systems is strongly preferred. </li><li>Must possess a valid New Jersey Black Seal license. </li></ul> <p>Compensation:</p> <p>The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $50-$55.</p> <p>We take pride in offering a wide range of exceptional benefits to our valued team members.
