MITRE is seeking a dynamic compensation manager to serve as the primary advisor for one of our key sectors reporting to the Senior Management of Compensation. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance on compensation strategies, leveraging your knowledge of industry trends and business insights to design and administer competitive, legally compliant, and impactful compensation programs.</p> <p>As a trusted partner to HR leaders and business stakeholders, you will play a critical role in helping shape the organization's compensation philosophy and ensuring alignment with market best practices. This position offers the opportunity to lead initiatives that drive transparency and performance across the enterprise.</p> <p>Roles & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary Compensation Partner for a designated sector, offering strategic advice and insights on compensation-related matters. </li><li>Assist in designing, developing, implementing, and administering enterprise-wide compensation programs, including managing market and promotion budgets, updating annual pay ranges, and maintaining job classification guides. </li><li>Conduct job evaluations, administer salary structures and pay grade levels, and ensure internal and market fairness for hires, promotions, and other salary actions. </li><li>Prepare and deliver compensation-related training materials and programs to enhance organizational understanding of pay practices and policies. </li><li>Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and senior HR leaders to strategically address compensation needs and support organizational goals. </li><li>Monitor and analyze compensation trends in government contracting, technology, and related industries, ensuring compliance with pay laws and best practices. </li><li>Assist in participating in and managing compensation market surveys to leverage competitive data and identify market trends. </li><li>Support audit requests from the Department of Labor (DOL), Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and internal auditors. </li><li>Assist in the annual merit process and other enterprise-wide compensation initiatives. </li><li>Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the company's job family structure and enterprise-wide pay guides. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience in business, HR, accounting, and/or finance with a Bachelor's degree in finance, business, human resources, or a related field; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. </li><li>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze and present large datasets effectively. </li><li>Proven expertise in data analysis with the ability to effectively interpret and communicate insights </li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver high-quality results. </li><li>Self-starter with a proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work independently under limited supervision. </li><li>Sound judgment in safeguarding sensitive information and making informed decisions. </li><li>This position requires a minimum of 50% on-site. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Workday </li><li>Familiarity with MarketPay or similar compensation tools. </li><li>Knowledge of labor markets in industries such as aerospace and defense, government contracting, data science, and/or cybersecurity. </li></ul> <p>This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):</p> <p>None</p> <p>This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):</p> <p>None</p> <p>Work Location Type:</p> <p>Hybrid</p> <p>Commitment to Non-Discrimination</p> <p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local or international law.
