<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening for an Assistant Director of Facilities & Grounds.</p> <p>The Assistant Director of Facilities & Grounds assists in planning, policy development and overall management of the Facilities & Grounds department. Provides management support for all day-to-day operations of the college's Facilities & Grounds functions including: snow removal, trash and recycling operations, as well as service contracts: moves, setups and housekeeping.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <p>Setting daily work instructions, prioritizing and directing maintenance assignments for a staff of 6 employees.</p> <p>Managing the maintenance of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic machinery as well as motor pool and the repair of all facility buildings, grounds, roadways, lighting and equipment.</p> <p>Obtaining quotes for repairs and projects around campus.</p> <p>Managing the preventative maintenance program.</p> <p>Inspecting completed projects.</p> <p>Issuing ad hoc reports and updates, as needed.</p> <p>Acts as the primary Facilities & Grounds customer service representative soliciting suggestions from customers and promptly addressing customer concerns.</p> <p>Oversight of the Maintenance Management Information System and Work Order System.</p> <p>Provides direction to other staff members in the absence of the Executive Director.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree.</p> <p>5-7 years of administrative and management experience in a diverse, complex organization setting is required.</p> <p>Formal training in the maintenance trades with a hands-on background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and ability to diagnose & fix mechanical & electrical breakdowns quickly & efficiently.</p> <p>Must possess knowledge of building & fire codes, DEP, EPA, POSHA code compliance and procedures.</p> <p>A commitment to dedicated, pro-active customer service.</p> <p>Success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse constituencies.</p> <p>Experience with personnel issues such as providing leadership for professional development.</p> <p>Experience in budget development and oversight.</p> <p>Must have effective interpersonal communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to resolve customer service complaints and labor relation issues.</p> <p>Must be able to adeptly utilize MS Word, MS Excel and existing Maintenance Management Information System and Work Order System</p> <p>The ability to read and interpret technical and maintenance manuals.</p> <p>Must possess a valid driver's license.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>As a New Jersey First Act Employer, new employees must establish a primary residence in New Jersey within one year unless an exemption applies.</p> <p>RVCC's starting salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
