<p>Under the general direction of The Director of Nursing and the nurse manager of the assigned unit, the Clinical Nurse Educator functions as one of the unit's clinical leadership team, in the coordination of professional development, patient safety, patient satisfaction and quality outcomes. Included in the essential job function of monitoring quality outcomes is real time assessment of outcomes and feedback to the staff along with basic collection of quality data to be integrated into an aggregate analysis. The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing the educational resources necessary to prepare and maintain the competencies of the unit based direct care staff for the provision of safe, quality patient care, in accordance with Hospital policy and standards. S/he contributes to increasing Nursing's body of knowledge and improving standards of nursing care. The Clinical Nurse Educator collaborates with other health care professionals in coordinating patient-focused care that is seamless, cost effective and outcome oriented.</p> <p>Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 - 10 years of current clinical experience </li><li>Proficiency in communication skills (both written and verbal) </li><li>Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching </li><li>Knowledge of evidence-based clinical research current findings and resources </li><li>Knowledge of process improvement strategies </li><li>Demonstrated ability and effective organizational skills to coordinate and manage projects/departmental initiatives </li><li>Experience with data collection and interpretation of quality performance measures </li><li>Ability to function and multi-task in a dynamic environment </li><li>Computer skills including email, Outlook, Microsoft Office and presentation applications such as PowerPoint. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Telemetry experience </li></ul> <p>Educational Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing </li><li>BSN required </li><li>MS in Nursing or currently enrolled in a Master's program </li><li>BLS competent and ACLS certification </li></ul> <p>License/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Current Massachusetts Licensure </li></ul> <p>Age Specific Criteria: Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position/assigned areas.</p> <p>Ability to Meet Job Performance Expectations: Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.</p> <p>Sturdy Memorial Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
