<p>General Job Information</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY</p> <p>This position is located in the District of Columbia, Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Office of Administrative Services. The mission of the DMV is to promote the safe operation of motor vehicles and public safety, while providing outstanding customer service.</p> <p>The incumbent is responsible for a variety of functions, such as management and program analysis, customer services, communications, correspondence, human resources, facilities management, performance management & measurement, public information, inventory, procurement, and training.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Manages internal and external departmental communications through effective use of social media, internal and external agency websites, and public outreach activities. Develop solutions to improve customer service. Ensures all communication services, including telephone and email, operate properly as well as ensures responses, written and verbal, are in compliance with Agency and District-wide guidelines and procedures. Develops and integrates public information, community education and outreach, published information (brochures, website, and internal materials), and internal communication to liaise with other agencies and interest groups in support of departmental programs and goals.</p> <p>Promote diversity to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all customers and employees. Plans, initiates, and implements comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance understanding of the agency's programs among the public and specialized groups and organizations. Provides administrative information to the public regarding Vehicle, Adjudication, Driver, and Administrative Services within the DMV and the Executive Office of the Mayor. Receives and evaluates the nature of external inquiries to conduct necessary research and provide reliable and accurate responses to requested information. Analyzes data gathered from inquiries to assess systemic problems to address issues accordingly and streamline work processes. Interprets and simplifies laws and regulations regarding DMV operations in order to present to the public and external stakeholders.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION</p> <p>Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, one (1) year of specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression.</p> <p>LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION</p> <p>None</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The work is performed in an adequately heated, lighted and ventilated non-smoking environment. The work is primarily sedentary in nature.</p> <p>OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS</p> <p>Tour of Duty: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday</p> <p>Pay Plan, Series, and Grade: MSS-0341-15</p> <p>Promotion Potential: No known promotion potential.</p> <p>Duration of Appointment: Management Supervisory Services.</p> <p>Collective Bargaining Unit: This position is not covered under a collective bargaining agreement.</p> <p>Duration of Appointment: Management Supervisory Service "At-Will." This is a Management Supervisory Service (MSS) appointment.
