<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under general supervision of the Food Service Administrator, the FSA 1 - Home Exchange performs the duties associated with working in a moderate complexity cafe, bar, and gift shop that serves members and public. Duties include: provide a quality dining experience for customers, cooking and serving food, taking orders, operating a point-of-sale system, handling money, food portioning, counting inventory, general cleaning and socializing with the members. This position works as an integral part of the Home Exchange Team.</p> <p>A copy of the full job description is available to view.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>Starting wage is $16.67 per hour, plus additional compensation for nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.</p> <p>Food Service Assistant 1 LTE is in pay schedule-pay range 03-08. For current or eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan effective at the time of hire.</p> <p>This job does not offer employee benefits.</p> <p>This position is not represented by a bargaining unit.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>This is a flexible part-time position that work 4-5 hours per day between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm. This position may work up to but no more than 20 hours per week.</p> <p>LTE jobs are limited to 1039 hours in a 12-month period and do not include employee benefits.</p> <p>Job duties include collecting customer orders, preparing food and completing service transactions including utilization the point-of-sale system. Handling cash transactions is required. Employees may be required to serve beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as ordered and customer service skills are necessary.</p> <p>These requirements cover the major and essential functions of the position but are not necessarily representative of all duties which this position may be assigned to perform.</p> <p>Due to the nature of the position, WDVA will conduct a criminal background check prior to an offer of employment.</p> <p>Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally Qualified Applicants will have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Basic customer service skills and experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working in a food service environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of proper food handling and sanitation practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with a team.</p> </li></ul> <p>Well Qualified Applicants will have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Extensive experience with food handling and sanitation practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Team leader experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Hold a ServSafe certification or equivalent.</p> </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To be eligible for consideration for this job, complete the online application process.
