<p>Job Title: Structural Analysis Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This role involves performing detailed structural analysis on composite materials and structures. You will be collaborating closely with the design team, providing valuable input to enhance our innovative projects. You will also be involved in testing materials and utilizing various analysis tools.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct structural analysis on composite materials and structures. </li><li>Collaborate with the design team to provide input and insights. </li><li>Test materials using advanced tools and techniques. </li><li>Utilize Solidworks, NASTRAN, CATIA, Siemens NX, Matlab, and Octave for analysis. </li><li>Contribute to the development of composite laminate theory and material allowables. </li><li>Optimize designs using Hypersizer or similar packages. </li><li>Engage in occasional domestic travel to support project needs. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with advanced degrees being a plus. </li><li>5-10 years of experience in a related role. </li><li>Expertise in analyzing composite materials and structures. </li><li>Familiarity with manufacturing techniques, including composites molding, machining, and 3D printing. </li><li>Experience with aircraft or unmanned aircraft (UAV, UAS, drone) is a strong plus. </li><li>Proficiency in FEMAP/NX NASTRAN, Solidworks, NX, CATIA, Microsoft Office, and Matlab or Octave. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with project management tools. </li><li>Understanding of composite laminate theory and material allowables development. </li><li>Experience with Hypersizer or other optimization packages. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment is fast-paced yet offers autonomy, with the support of a mentor to guide you through projects. You will be part of a small design firm specializing in the design of autonomous aerial vehicles, providing engineering services and strategic guidance. This position requires a US person due to specific project requirements. Dress code is business casual, and the role involves working with advanced design and analysis software.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $58.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
