<p>About The Community Builders TCB Join a growing organization that is strengthening neighborhoods across the nation The Community Builders Inc TCB is one of Americas leading nonprofit real estate developers and owners Our mission is to build and sustain strong communities where all people can thrive Position Description Full cycle accounting role for a portfolio of properties requiring analyzing and reporting on all accounting matters Serve as the financial expert and primary facilitator of all financial matters providing accurate and timely financial information to internal departments and external clients Essential Functions Manage analyze and audit all aspects of the general ledger to ensure accuracy of transactions and investigate and resolve any and all discrepancies with property management staff if necessaryPrepare and enter journal entries to the general ledger as neededReview and update recurring journal entries on a monthly basis for accuracy prior to posting to general ledgerAnalyze monthly GAAP financial statements and prepare all supporting schedules as requiredPerforms daily andor monthly cash management responsibilities including wire transfers cash projections and weekly priority selection of invoicesCalculates and processes for payment the monthly management and accounting feesProcesses the monthly mortgage escrow payments and other recurring payablesResponsible for paying the Real Estate Taxes and Insurance for assigned portfolioEach month monitors security deposit cash and ensures that all accounts are fully fundedPrepare monthly bank statement reconciliations and resolve all reconciling items in a timely mannerReview coding of invoices to fixed asset accounts to verify they are legitimate capital itemsAnalyze and true up on a monthly basis all prepaid expenses and monthly operating accruals for assigned propertiesAudit and ensure accuracy of various subsidiary reports and reconcile to general ledger such as Rent Roll AP Aging Open Status Report and Security Deposit Ledger for assigned portfolioServe as a resource and assist with preparation of portfolio annual budgetsPrepare interim and annual audit work paper package for year end external auditsProvide Project Managers Portfolio Managers Regional Managers and all TCB personnel and external clients with the highest level of servicePerform other duties as assigned Knowledge Skills and Abilities Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Excel requiredExperience with Property Management accounting software necessary Yardi preferredProven organizational skills with ability to set priorities manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesSelf starter capable of finding solutions with minimal supervisionAbility to interact with co workers site staff or vendors in an articulate courteous and business like manner at all timesAbility to work under pressureAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAdaptability to changing demandsEffective problem solving skillsAbility to multitaskStrong communication skills written and oral as well as solid interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications BABS degree in Accounting or related fieldA minimum of 3 to 5 years of Residential Real Estate accounting experience Previous accounting experience in affordable housing settingsBenefits Medical dental and vision insurance12 Paid Holidays & tenure based PTO accrualsEmployer contributions to Health Savings AccountsCompany paid Life & Disability Insurance403b retirement plan with company matchTax advantage accounts commuterparking medical & dependent care FSAHospital & Critical Illness InsuranceConfidential 247 Employee Assistance ProgramThe Community Builders is an equal opportunity employer</p>
