<p>Columbia Metropolitan Airport is looking for an Assistant Facilities Manager to join our team! This position is works under minimal supervision to organize, monitor, and supervise facility maintenance operations. Performs a variety of strategic tasks relative to the day-to-day operations of the department, to support the operational efficiency of the airport. Serves as lead in absence of Facilities Manager. This position requires 3+ years technical, grounds or airfield maintenance experience, 1+ year supervisory experience and associate degree in maintenance related field or 4 years of relevant work experience. Starting salary is $72,000.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Manage all aspects of airfield and property maintenance. </li><li>Perform supervisory functions, including but not limited to hiring, employee retention, performance evaluation, professional development, and disciplinary procedures. </li><li>Analyze fleet composition and necessary requirements to meet Airport goals. Facilitate the procurement process within department budget. </li><li>Develop and maintain effective relationships, with team members, by demonstrating a positive and flexible attitude. Assist others with completion of tasks as necessary. </li><li>Analyze workloads and make recommendations to senior leadership to improve utilization of staff and resources. </li><li>Oversee project management, calculating costs, securing vendors/contracts, utilizing cost effective measures that align with departmental budget & goals </li><li>Implement strategic planning to meet departmental objectives, anticipate challenges, and ensure best possible outcome. </li><li>Maintain an accurate record of reports, employee training, list of vendors/contractors. </li><li>Ensures regulatory compliance by coordinating maintenance activities with the Airport Operations team. </li><li>Maintain consistent communication within the department and other internal stakeholders such as Operations and Administration. </li><li>Perform routine inspections to ensure the functionality, upkeep, and safety of maintenance equipment. </li><li>Serve as the subject matter expert on safety operations, create policies and procedures that support safety initiatives </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Ability to multitask </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication and leadership abilities </li><li>Conflict resolution </li><li>Resourceful </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications</p> <ul> <li>3+ years of experience in technical, grounds, or airfield maintenance work </li><li>1+ years of supervisory experience </li><li>Associate degree in maintenance related field, or 4 years of relevant experience </li><li>Must possess and maintain a valid S.C. driver license </li><li>Successful completion of TSA/Security Background check (external candidates) </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in technical, grounds, or airfield maintenance work </li><li>3+ years of supervisory experience </li><li>Associate degree in maintenance related field </li><li>Knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Airport Rules and Regulations </li><li>Knowledge of FAA Regulations and associated Airport Compliance Documents </li><li>Knowledge of the current materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in journey level building trades (painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC) </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including various trucks, hand, and power tools, etc. with the ability to exert more than thirty pounds of force occasionally and up to ten pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Physical demands are in excess of sedentary work; must be able to walk and stand for periods of time, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, balance, push, pull, and reach. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to fifty pounds.</p>
