Position Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach Location Main Campus Full-Time/Part-Time Part-Time Description</p> <p>Head Track and Field/Cross Country Coach</p> <p>Department Athletics</p> <p>Building/Location Maxwell Center/Main Campus</p> <p>Supervisor Athletic Director</p> <p>Months Per Year 12</p> <p>Hours Per Week 20</p> <p>Classification Level Part time</p> <p>Supervises N/A</p> <p>Application Ohiochristian.peopleadmin.com</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Head Track and Cross Country Coach will report to the Athletic Director and will oversee all</p> <p>aspects of operating a successful Intercollegiate Track and Cross Country program.</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Any one position may not include all of the listed duties, nor</p> <p>do all of the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in positions within this</p> <p>classification)</p> <p>Student-Athlete Skill Instruction:</p> <p>Teach all basic and advanced skills required in the sport of Track and Cross Country during</p> <p>individual skill sessions, team practices, as well as the strength and conditioning sessions.</p> <p>Develop and implement of sound and safe practice plans for both individual skill sessions and</p> <p>team practices that successfully prepare the student-athletes with the fundamentals in the sport</p> <p>of Track and Cross Country, as well as the strength and conditioning sessions.</p> <p>Team and Game Preparation:</p> <p>Develop a comprehensive and strategic game plan for each scheduled contest throughout the</p> <p>season. This includes, but is not limited to, the evaluation of upcoming opponents, preparing a</p> <p>scouting report for the student-athletes and making adjustments to the game plan during the</p> <p>contests.</p> <p>Administrative Responsibilities:</p> <p>Organize and coordinate of a wide variety of administrative tasks which include, but not limited</p> <p>to; team travel, meet scheduling, budget preparation, office administration, academics</p> <p>(retention, graduation, GPA's, academic coaching, study tables), compliance, facility usage,</p> <p>public relations, marketing, style guide, fundraising, community engagement, fall-winter-spring</p> <p>summer camps and other daily operations for operating a successful intercollegiate Softball</p> <p>program.</p> <p>NCCAA Rules Compliance:</p> <p>Be responsible for knowledge of, and adherence to all NCCAA rules and regulations pertaining</p> <p>to but not limited to recruiting, eligibility, and general operation of the program.</p> <p>REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>According to Ohio Christian University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong</p> <p>Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the OCU Community Lifestyle</p> <p>Statement.</p> <ul> <li>Education, Training and Experience: </li></ul> <p>o Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred)</p> <p>o 2-4 years of playing/coaching at the college level</p> <p>o Successfully pass all NCCAA and University requirements for employment</p> <ul> <li>Skill and Ability to: </li></ul> <p>o Strong public speaking skills that connect with 18-22-year old athletes</p> <p>o Strong administrative and organizational skills</p> <p>o Strong communication skills both verbal and written</p> <p>o Ability to network with other coaches to continue growth professionally</p> <p>o Ability to successfully recruit a full roster each season (mission fit student</p> <p>athletes)</p> <p>LIMITATIONS AND DISCLAIMER</p> <p>As a religious educational institution operating under the auspices of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union, Ohio</p> <p>Christian University is permitted and reserves the right to prefer employees on the basis of religion (42 U.S.C.,</p> <p>Sections 2000e-1 and 2000e-2).The above job description is meant to describe the general nature and level of work</p> <p>being performed; it is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills</p> <p>required for the position.
