SCA IS AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO BE AN EDUCATOR AND STUDENT.</p> <p>Click here to learn more- About Savannah Classical Academy</p> <p>PRIMARY FUNCTION:</p> <p>Teachers are members of the CEO's instructional team and are responsible for duties related to academic programs and operational practices.</p> <p>General Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught. </li><li>Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation. </li><li>Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation. </li><li>Uses available technology to enhance the students' learning experiences. </li><li>Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities. </li><li>Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible. </li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO. </li><li>Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues </li><li>Facilitates home-school communication by such means as a communication folder, scheduling conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications </li><li>Demonstrates professional practices in teaching: </li><li>Models correct use of language, oral and written </li><li>Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content </li><li>Implements designated curriculum and grade level standards </li><li>Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy </li><li>Assigns instructional tasks and homework to students </li><li>Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities </li></ul> <p>Teachers are members of the Georgia Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and are eligible to participate in the State Health Benefit Plan, group dental, vision, and supplemental coverages.
