<p>Medical Lab Technologist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Medical Lab Technologist will perform patient testing for the Flow lab. They will collect, prepare, and test bone marrow specimens. Additionally, they will perform Flow cytometry on blood, body fluids, and tissue within busy oncology and AP service lines.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria. </li><li>Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures. </li><li>Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality. </li><li>Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving. </li><li>Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls. </li><li>Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care. </li><li>Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. </li><li>Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary. </li><li>Assist with processing of specimens when needed. </li><li>Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. </li><li>Laboratory, medical laboratory, and medical technology skills. </li><li>Flow cytometry and hematology experience. </li><li>ASCP certification preferred (REQUIRES TN LICENSE IF NOT ASCP, AMT, OR AAD CERTIFIED). </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science OR BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university. </li><li>Prefer Bachelor's degree but would accept MLT with Flow Cytometry experience or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology. </li><li>ASCP or AMT certification is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Schedule: 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday. Rotating weekends on call. Supporting flow cytometry and hematology department.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $37.90/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
