<p>Motor Vehicle Trainer</p> <p>Employment Type: 0 - Full-time Regular</p> <p>Pay Range: $49,916.00 - 74,874.00</p> <p>Location: Lone Tree, CO</p> <p>Overtime Exempt: N</p> <p>Elected Office / Department: CLERK & RECORDER</p> <p>The Motor Vehicle Trainer is responsible for the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for Motor Vehicle Division staff, including new hires and tenured employees. This position will design and implement effective learning experiences that support operational excellence, ensure compliance with Colorado motor vehicle laws and procedures, and promote professional growth across all levels of the division. This role regularly performs a variety of functions including curriculum development, classroom facilitation, coaching, and individualized instruction. The Motor Vehicle Trainer collaborates with internal teams and state partners to maintain current training content and respond to evolving requirements. This is a highly collaborative position requiring exceptional communication, instructional, and organizational skills. The Motor Vehicle Trainer supports the advancement of staff through onboarding, continuous development, and promotional pathways, and ensures consistency in the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, and statutory requirements across all Motor Vehicle offices. Coordinates with and assists other Clerk & Recorder Divisions as needed.</p> <p>This position reports to the Motor Vehicle Projects and Compliance Manager.</p> <p>Generally, the hiring range is $49,916-$62,395 annually. View the full Employee Benefits Guide</p> <p>View the full job description here</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive.)</p> <p>New Hire Trainer:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develops and delivers Motor Vehicle training to newly hired staff with varying levels of motor vehicle experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts workshops, classes, presentations, individual instruction, and group discussions using a blended learning approach that incorporates coaching, classroom instruction, and e-learning methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops course learning objectives and outcomes, and evaluates effectiveness through participant feedback and post-training assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates the completion of State required training with State Trainers.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides in-office learning support for New Hire and Motor Vehicle Specialist I staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes required on boarding documentation for new hire staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Represents Douglas County by participating in state training meetings focused on developing and refining new hire curriculum.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains Motor Vehicle Specialist level I content in the Douglas County Motor Vehicle's internal Electronic Training Manual.</p> </li><li> <p>Revises training programs and materials as necessary to address evolving needs and requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with internal Motor Vehicle Compliance team to assess individual training needs and identify opportunities for training improvements.</p> </li></ul> <p>Continuous Development Trainer:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Develops and delivers Motor Vehicle training to Motor Vehicle Specials II and above.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts workshops, classes, presentations, individual instruction, and group discussions using a blended learning approach that incorporates coaching, classroom instruction, and e-learning methods.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops course learning objectives and outcomes, and evaluates effectiveness through participant feedback and post-training assessments.</p> </li><li> <p>Works with Motor Vehicle Projects and Compliance Manager to review legislative updates and state-wide changes affecting Vehicle Serivces and develops and implements a training plan to address those changes.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with the development and coordination of motor vehicle progressive and promotional testing to support the advancement of Motor Vehicle Specialists.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides in-office learning support for Motor Vehicle Specialist II and above.</p> </li><li> <p>Completes required access documentation for staffing changes, promotions, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Represents Douglas County by participating in state training meetings focused on higher learning and process updates.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborates with the internal Motor Vehicle Compliance team to assess individual training needs and opportunities for training improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Trained redundancy for the New Hire Trainer.</p> </li></ul> <p>OTHER DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Lives out the competencies outlined in the Vision, Mission, and Core Values of the Clerk and Recorder's Office, maintaining a supportive environment conducive to teamwork.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts surveys to gauge the effectiveness of training programs and works with leadership on continuous improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>All Clerk & Recorder employees may be required to work in the Elections Division in any capacity that is needed during election cycles.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists and performs the work of Motor Vehicle Compliance team and staff as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures training equipment is in good repair and fully functional to meet training needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Fields internal support calls.</p> </li><li> <p>Trains staff in the operation and maintenance of computer systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in special projects as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or GED is required. Associates or bachelor's degree in education, training, human resources, business administration or similar field preferred. </li><li>Three years direct Motor Vehicle department experience required. One year of Motor Vehicle experience can be substituted for previous training experience. </li><li>Experience in training, teaching, supervisory, or facilitation positions related to the interpretation and application of complex rules and regulations, financial management and customer service preferred. </li><li>A combination of experience and education may be considered. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Must possess a valid Colorado Driver's License upon hire, with complying insurance. </li><li>May be required to obtain and maintain Driver's License Examiner Certification through the State of Colorado. </li><li>Subject to motor vehicle record review at time of hire and periodically during employment. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:</p> <p>Closing Date: 6/22/2025 5:59PM MST.
