<p>What We Need YOU To Do:</p> <p>The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest environmental specialist in the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR), working at our Central Office in downtown Columbus, Ohio.</p> <p>Hear that knock? Open the door.</p> <p>As DERR's newest environmental specialist, you will assist in the review of human health risk assessments, ecological assessments, toxicology reviews, reports and technical memoranda associated with the investigation and remediation of releases from DERR's Investigatory Programs. For these programs, you will also help with data collection, data analysis and evaluation, and exposure assessment.</p> <p>You are going to apply environmental and scientific principles to resolve complex problems in site investigation, remedy selection, and remediation in areas such as SAP/QAP review, statistical analysis, and treatment technologies. You will help with the development and/or revision of cleanup standards for air, soil, sediment, surface water, and ground water for VAP and other agency cleanup programs.</p> <p>As an environmental specialist, you will also help in the development and implementation of guidance, policies, procedures relating to DERR's Investigatory Programs - and review and propose revisions to applicable laws and regulations, including response authorities and cleanup standards.</p> <p>Let's hit the high points:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist in the review of human health risk assessments, ecological assessments, and toxicology reviews.</p> </li><li> <p>Apply environmental and scientific principles to resolve complex problems in site investigations.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and revise cleanup standards for air, soil, sediment, surface/ground water for VAP.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement guidance, policies, and procedures relating to DERR's Investigatory Programs.</p> </li></ul> <p>You. Let's do this.</p> <ul> <li>12 mos. exp. as Environmental Specialist 1, 85861. </li><li>OR 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in position involving engineering or chemistry, physics, biology, environmental science, geology or hydrogeology &/or other comparable physical or health science field &/or mathematics which included responsibility for conducting compliance monitoring surveys &/or inspections/reviews or investigations, or review of permit applications relative to oil & gas well operations or injection, annular disposal & saltwater injection wells & enhanced recovery projects or coal mining, or solid/hazardous waste sites or industrial & municipal wastewater dischargers, or collecting, compiling & preparing various environmental assessments, evaluations, reports & related documents.
