<p>Building Substitute Tantasqua Regional Jr. High School Anticipated Start Date: Immediate</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal/Assistant Principals</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide daily substitute coverage, as assigned.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>maintains high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students and their records </li><li>provides substitute coverage for teachers, assistants or other educational staff as assigned </li><li>reviews all plans and schedules to be followed during the teaching day </li><li>maintains established routines and procedures of the school and classroom assigned </li><li>teaches the lessons outlined in the classroom teacher's lesson plans </li><li>writes a report about work completed at the end of each teaching day for absent teacher </li><li>attends team meetings and IEP meetings as requested </li><li>attends parent conferences as requested </li><li>meets with teachers for curriculum discussions as requested </li><li>meets with teachers and other specialists to discuss school issues as requested </li><li>participates in in-service training programs and/or workshops as assigned </li><li>performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>ABILITY TO:</p> <ul> <li>communicate effectively with students, teachers, and administration </li><li>effectively apply school procedures and Student Handbook regulations </li><li>work with children of varying abilities, including children with disabilities </li><li>maintain cooperative, productive and flexible working relationship when dealing with students and staff </li><li>solve practical problems with students and staff </li><li>understand and carry out oral and written directions </li><li>plan and organize work to meet deadlines </li><li>provide information and assistance to parents, the general public and other staff members in a helpful, courteous and timely manner </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE OF:</p> <ul> <li>child development and challenges faced by students with and without disabilities </li><li>curriculum expectations of grade level/discipline to which he/she is assigned </li><li>available assistive technologies, with appropriate training </li><li>effective use of computer and relevant educational software applications </li><li>interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy </li><li>safe operation of school equipment necessary to successfully complete daily tasks, including but not limited to copier, laminator, and paper cutter </li><li>telephone/computer techniques and etiquette </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. </li><li>Evidence of ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily. </li><li>Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university </li><li>Appropriate Massachusetts Department of Education certification preferred </li><li>Approved CORI and Fingerprinting results </li></ul> <p>ANTICIPATED SALARY: The salary range is from $142.00 - $155.00 per day.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Days school is in session Hours: 7:20 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. </li></ul> <p>Greg Sturges, Principal Tantasqua Junior High School 320B Brookfield Rd.
