<p>Hoosac Valley High School is seeking a passionate and innovative English teacher to join our collaborative and student-centered learning community. Our school is committed to fostering strong relationships with students as the foundation for academic and personal growth. We are looking for an educator who will actively contribute to the development of our Innovation Pathways and design engaging elective courses that inspire students to think critically, creatively, and globally. The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in Project-Based Learning, standards-based grading, and advanced placement coursework. They will demonstrate a commitment to student-centered instruction, continuous professional growth, and equity in education. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in accordance with assigned schedule and curriculum goals. Develop and implement lessons that reflect the diverse interests, needs, and abilities of all learners. Create a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning. Clearly communicate learning objectives and outcomes for all lessons, units, and assessments. Prepare instructional materials and demonstrate evidence of planning when requested. Employ varied instructional strategies and technologies that support personalized learning and accessibility. Align instructional practices with district philosophy, goals, and performance standards. Regularly assess and document student progress; provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and families. Maintain accurate and compliant records in accordance with school and district policies. Identify and address individual student learning challenges in collaboration with support staff and specialists. Maintain classroom management practices aligned with the HVRHS Code of Conduct and promote a respectful, just learning environment. Supervise and support assigned paraprofessionals; complete evaluations as required. Engage in ongoing professional development and self-reflection to enhance instructional effectiveness. Participate in the educator evaluation process in a collaborative and growth-oriented manner. Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-sponsored events as required by contract. Contribute actively to school-wide initiatives, including curriculum planning, budgeting, and the shared governance of the learning environment.</p>
