The surrounding areas also have zip-lining, cave exploring, hiking, and beaches/reservoirs! </li></ul> <p>As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will uphold our Mission, Vision, and Values. Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health you will plan, organize, and implement behavioral health services to patients and families.</p> <p>Responsibilities (How this position enhances our Mission, Vision, and Values)</p> <p>Mission - Improve the Quality of Life of Others:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizes Open Door Health Services Core Values when interacting with patients, families, and co-workers. </li><li>Complies with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance including privacy of protected health information. </li><li>Works as a team member with primary care staff serving as a member of Medical/Behavioral Health Integration Team. </li><li>Maintains departmental policies and procedures and ensure quality of care with respect and sensitive to the need of the clients we serve. </li><li>Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations. </li></ul> <p>Vision - ODHS preferred partner in East Central Indiana for improving the well-being of individuals and the communities in which they live:</p> <ul> <li>Provides evidence -based behavioral health assessments and treatment. </li><li>Maintains required patient records and other written information as required. </li><li>Works to acquire knowledge of medical issues pertinent to the provision of effective behavioral health services. </li></ul> <p>Values - Esteem the Team, Maximize Potential, Do the Right Thing, Choose Compassion, Encourage</p> <p>Uniqueness:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to maintain confidential information, records, and test results. </li><li>Makes independent decision regarding needs of the patients, collaborating with primary care staff in providing behavioral health services. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Graduate degree in Social Work or Psychology from an accredited institution. </li><li>Three years of post-graduate experience in a clinical setting, preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>Possession of a valid license from the Indiana Health Professions Bureau in appropriate discipline. </li></ul> <p>About you:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of and skill in providing behavioral health assessment and treatment specifically in an evidence-based manner. </li><li>Works well with and willing to see adults and children. </li><li>Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures in the provision of services for both ODHS and CMHS. </li><li>Skill in working closely as a team member with primary care staff. </li><li>Skill in acquiring knowledge of medical issues from primary care staff as needed to provide effective services to patients. </li><li>Ability to react calmly in emergency situations. </li><li>Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. </li><li>Valid Indiana Driver's License and ability to travel as needed. </li><li>Ability to be flexible in providing services. </li><li>Skill in exercising initiative, listening, judgement, discretion, and decision making within position scope. </li><li>Ability to organize, coordinate and monitor work assignments. </li><li>Ability to prioritize work assignments and departmental responsibilities. </li><li>Posses understanding of individual's socioeconomic status and lifestyle with respect to individual differences. </li></ul> <p>Physical and Environmental Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environment. Tasks involve contact with blood or body substances. </li><li>Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment. </li><li>Requires standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching or lifting up to 40 pounds. </li><li>Requires the ability to work under stressful situations. </li></ul>
