<p>Position Purpose/Summary</p> <p>Responsible for supporting the daily meal operations at the Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center. This role assists with food preparation, kitchen and dining room cleanliness, meal service, and ensuring a safe, welcoming dining experience for senior participants. Work is performed under the supervision of the Elder Affairs Director. No supervision is exercised over other employees.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Help set up and serve meals to senior center participants in a friendly and respectful manner. </li><li>Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment. </li><li>Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, dining areas, and food prep stations. </li><li>Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines. </li><li>Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries properly. </li><li>Take out trash and recycling and maintain overall kitchen and dining room organization. </li><li>Support special events and holiday meals as needed. </li><li>Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, volunteers, and senior center team members. </li><li>Other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of food safety standards and cleanliness. </li><li>Must be ServSafe certified as required by Elder Affairs Director </li><li>Ability to follow instructions and prepare ingredients as instructed. </li><li>Must possess ability to work independently. </li><li>Possess verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to function with minimal supervision. </li><li>Must have strong organizational skills. </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Minimum of two years of successful experience working with the general public, preferably with seniors. </li><li>Relevant ServSafe certification preferred. </li></ul>
