Duties and responsibilities include installing and repairing electrical outlets, circuits, switches; painting buildings, roofing, repairing heating and cooling systems; works with wood and utilizes other carpentry based skills to provide maintenance support; leads others in these activities. Under general supervision, reports to Maintenance SupervisorThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. While this is intended to be an accurate reflection of the current job, management reserves the right to revise the job. Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Directs assigned personnel in the performance of routine maintenance and construction duties. </li><li>Monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned personnel, assists with complex/problem situations, and provides technical expertise. Provides supervision for, and participates in, the construction, renovation, maintenance, and repair of Parks roadways, drainage facilities and associated utilities at a fully skilled level. </li><li>Operates on a regular basis a variety of trucks and equipment such as bulldozer, backhoes, graders, asphalt maintainers, roller compacters, loader / excavator to perform functions of Parks. </li><li>Hauls, transports, loads, and/or unloads various equipment, or other materials used in projects or at work sites; monitors status of materials under transport and retrieves any fallen debris/materials. </li><li>Assists in the repair and new construction of parks and recreation facilities. </li><li>Leads others and participates in the installation and repair of electrical outlets, circuits, switches, fans and lighting fixtures; installs new electric service, does electrical remodeling, repairs electrical appliances. </li><li>Leads others and participates in the performance of a variety of carpentry maintenance and construction. </li><li>Leads others and participates in the performance of major repair of heating and cooling systems, installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, water and drainage lines. </li><li>Leads others and participates in painting of the interior and exterior of buildings; performs activities associated with roofing. </li><li>Maintains and installs P.A. Systems and scoreboards. </li><li>Leads others and participates in the maintenance, remodeling, inspection and repairing of concessions and its contents. </li><li>Conducts behavior at all times in a professional manner to reflect positively on customer's perception of town facility. </li><li>Helps maintain the cleanliness of machines, work area and facility. Report on incidents or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor. </li><li>Maintain records in compliance to Federal, State, and City regulations. </li><li>Work safely observing all OSHA, Federal State and City regulations. Report any accidents immediately to supervisor. </li><li>Correctly wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required. </li><li>Perform routine maintenance on equipment. Report any malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor </li><li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>Must possess a valid Tennessee Driver's License. </li><li>Must have High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC industries. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. </li><li>Equipment Operation experience preferred. </li><li>Once hired, the employee must earn CDL within 6 months of employment </li></ul>
