This is a 9-month, full- time, permanent, tenure-track faculty appointment to begin as soon as January 1, 2026, subject to position clearance and availability of funds.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities - Assistant Professor (F-3)</p> <ul> <li>Teach undergraduate and graduate courses. </li><li>Mentor and advise students. </li><li>Conduct applied research in public finance and taxation, both independently and as part of UHERO's partnership with the State Department of Taxation. </li><li>Publish in peer-reviewed academic journals. </li><li>Serve as principal investigator on extramurally funded projects. </li><li>Collaborate with UHERO researchers on projects related to state and local public finance. </li><li>Contribute to UHERO's core mission to inform public policy by staying abreast of local and national tax policy and sharing expertise and research results with state and local policy makers and stakeholders. </li><li>Provide service and outreach in congruence with UHERO's mission. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the director. </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities - Associate Professor (F-4):</p> <p>In addition the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Professor rank,</p> <ul> <li>Provide significant service to the college and community outside of the area of primary responsibilities. </li><li>Sustain involvement in professional and self-development activities. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications - Assistant Professor (F-3):</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree from a college or university of recognized standing in Economics (ABDs will be considered but all degree requirements must be completed prior to date of hire). </li><li>A record of research achievement (publications, grants) commensurate with time in field. </li><li>Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and mentor and advise students in the applicant's area of expertise. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications - Associate Professor (F-4):</p> <ul> <li>Minimum qualifications of the Assistant Professor rank. </li><li>A record of research achievement (publications, grants) commensurate with time in field. </li><li>A minimum of four years of service as Assistant Professor or equivalent. </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>JEL Classifications: H2, H7</p> <p>Keywords: public finance, taxation</p> <p>Please submit the following required documents at https.www.aeaweb.org/joe/cand.php.</p> <ul> <li>Cover letter that addresses the minimum qualifications; </li><li>Curriculum vitae; </li><li>Three (3) representative working papers; </li><li>Statement of teaching experience and interests; </li><li>Summaries of teaching evaluations; </li><li>Three (3) letters of recommendation </li><li>Official transcripts (copies are acceptable, however, official transcripts will be required upon hire). </li></ul> <p>Application materials will not be returned.
