<p>Responsible for the practice. Develops and coordinates efficient department procedures that support the operations of the office. Acts as liaison with companies, carriers, and internal departments to insure delivery of services and accurate billing. Overall responsibility for providing other administrative functions of the department. Maintains effective verbal and written communications at multiple levels within internal and external customers. Coordinates activities of the office. Directs and guides staff and ensures appropriate utilization of human and capital resources.</p> <p>naEDUCATION:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>B.S. in business or healthcare administration </li></ul> <p>LICENSE:</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>BLS required through RQI. </li><li>Must successfully completed NYS approved course for podiatry x-ray within 6 months of hire.(NYS Podiatry Radiology Course for Unlicensed Persons (nysed.gov) or Radiology Course For Podiatric (unlicensed) Assistants (nyspma.org)) </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Certification obtained from a Medical Assistant School licensed by New York State preferred </li></ul> <p>WORK EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>3-5 years experience in Physician Practice operations, 3 years in a supervisory role. </li><li>Experience with computerized patient scheduling. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Previous supervisory experience in podiatry or other surgical specialty practice. </li><li>Knowledge of Physician billing. Ability to create and manage an operating budget. </li><li>Medent EMR system experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates ability to work independently and maintain current systems. </li><li>Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload, develop/maintain efficient office systems and assist with payroll. </li><li>Strong verbal/written communicating skills. </li><li>Exceptional organization skills, working knowledge of CPT & ICD-10 codes. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Outpatient admission/registration experience preferred. </li><li>Medical terminology Knowledge, surgical scheduling, and billing experience preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of Workers' Compensation regulations. </li></ul>
