<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As the Associate Medical Director, you will be overseeing Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA)/Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGI) services. This position, in collaboration with the Medical Director, is responsible for developing and administrating the Medical Education program in AODA treatment for the Institute for psychiatric residents, medical students, and psychiatric advanced practice nurse prescribers. Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising and coordinating the medical staff (Psychiatrists and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescribers) assigned to the units. </li><li>Coordinating medical staff coverage for the units and working with each of the clinical teams to oversee the clinical treatment services in conjunction with the unit managers. </li><li>Performing direct service activities with selected patients and providing consultation to the other Forensic Services providers. </li><li>Assisting the Medical Director in carrying out the duties and responsibilities as assigned in this capacity. This position is the secondary agent in serving as the Medical Director in his/her absence. </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting pay is up to $196.65 per hour, depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits.</p> <ul> <li>*Pay includes an add-on of $23.00 per hour for board certification in psychiatry and $23.00 add-on for management responsibility. The add-on for board certification eligibility is $8.00 per hour. </li><li>A 12-month probationary period is required. </li><li>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. </li><li>This position is classified as a Psychiatrist Management and is in pay schedule/range, 50/52. </li></ul> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire. DHS is not an E-Verify employer nor a STEM-OPT eligible employer.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin (WI) and a minimum of three (3) years in an approved residency in psychiatry. Eligible means being licensed to practice medicine in another state and will be obtaining a WI license. License must be obtained prior to appointment. </li><li>Board certified or eligible to obtain board certification in Psychiatry. Must be obtained prior to appointment. </li><li>Experience working within a 24/7 accredited behavioral health or healthcare-related operation (inpatient or outpatient), performing direct psychiatric practice and therapeutic intervention in accordance with current standards set forth by Joint Commission and Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA). </li><li>Experience supervising psychiatric provider staff (e.g., planning, organizing, monitoring and directing staff, coaching or addressing performance concerns, overseeing disciplinary process, etc.). </li><li>Experience interpreting and applying laws and statutes related to mental health (e.g., Wisconsin Chapter 51, 55, 971, 980, or comparable laws in other states) and procedures to complete court-ordered evaluations. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Completion of an addictions fellowship or other certification specific to substance use/addictions. </li><li>Experience managing patients under Wisconsin Statute Chapters 51, 55, or 971.17(1)/ 971.17(3). </li><li>Experience with medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations to organize and direct the medical staff in order to provide safe and therapeutic services to patients. </li></ul> <p>Your letter of qualifications and resume are limited to two (2) pages each.
