For more information, refer to Required Documents below.</p> <p>The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is recruiting for a well-trained, energetic Physician (Otolaryngology). The Otolaryngologist works full time for the Surgical Care Services and will provide ear, nose, throat (ENT) care to Veterans at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.</p> <p>This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Eligible applicants will be referred until all vacancies are filled.</p> <p>The Otolaryngologist is responsible for providing initial evaluation and follow up visits, which includes medical and surgical management and treatment of patients with diseases and disorders of the ear, nose, throat (ENT), and related structures of the head and neck.</p> <p>The duties consist of but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>In the head and neck area, the Otolaryngologist will treat infections, benign (non-cancerous) and malignant (cancerous) tumors, facial trauma, perform both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, and surgical duties that include: admissions, consultations, preoperative work ups, as well as postoperative care to correct or treat various otolaryngological conditions, illnesses and injuries. </li><li>Makes preliminary diagnosis; directs, prescribes or provides treatment, arranges for specialized care or patient referral as required. </li><li>Actively participates in Emergency and On-Call schedule. </li><li>Provides comprehensive otolaryngological care including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services to patients. </li><li>Management of patients during their inpatient course, using consultants when appropriate and performs inpatient consultations on patients from other services. </li><li>Conducts outpatient clinics; reviews patients' medications, diet, course of therapy, adherence to management plan and patient observations; modifies management plan as indicated; and instructs and counsels patients as required. </li><li>Serves as a consultant to primary care physicians and accepts referrals and outpatient consultations from other providers. </li><li>Functions in a teaching capacity by educating others (patients, staff, trainees, and/or seminar participants, etc.) in the assessment, treatment, management and evaluation of otolaryngologic disorders. </li><li>Refers patients as appropriate; works closely with allied health professionals; and participates in the Surgical Department Quality Assurance and Peer Review programs. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
