<p>Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time professional clerical and/or administrative experience, to include experience in payroll and/or time and attendance. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software to include Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Experience with Oracle Payroll and PeopleSoft systems. Experience utilizing email in a business setting.</p> <p>Brief Description of Duties:</p> <p>The Payroll Specialist is responsible for interpreting and processing personnel paperwork for specified departments. This position will receive general supervision and provide a targeted Research community with support and information in areas such as Appointments, Payroll and Timekeeping for Professional, Classified, Graduate and Undergraduate students and Hourly employees. The selected candidate must be organized and detail oriented. Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively interact with the campus community via phone, email, as well as in person.</p> <ul> <li>Accurately review, code, calculate and input RF Appointment and Change forms for hourly graduate and undergraduate students and hourly employees in conjunction with Research Foundation Policy guidelines. Responsibilities include complex calculations and computer input of all appointments, terminations, extensions, reactivation, rate changes, overpayments and advances. </li><li>Process distribution adjustments and enter labor schedule. Enter hours into Oracle for payment. Process overtime and accrual checks for payment. Audit and maintain classified timesheets. Audit and maintain hourly timesheets. Audit and maintain exempt employees time and attendance in Peoplesoft and maintain rosters for graduate student time and attendance. </li><li>Process W-4 & IT-2104's. Process I-9 forms using E-Verify the Department of Homeland Security System. </li><li>Effectively communicate with the research community. Perform a variety of administrative support functions, which includes, preparing written notices and correspondence, handling telephone inquiries, and managing form requests. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Special Notes:</p> <p>The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment.
