Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Internal City employees only. No external candidates or non-City employees will be considered</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>The Program Manager will plan, organize, schedule, and supervise the Gulf Beach Rescue and Boat Patrol, Beach Enforcement, and Beach Parking Permit programs. Functions include: coordination of daily activities; managing permanent and seasonal personnel; securing needed supplies and equipment; ensuring staff are properly trained and prepared; provide public information; and support the issuance of Gulf Beach Vendor Permits. The major objective for this position is to provide oversight of the division's public safety and enforcement functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and supervise the 7-day rescue and enforcement operations located on the Gulf Beach </li><li>Oversee personnel by hiring permanent and seasonal employees, handle discipline issues and coordinate work schedules. </li><li>Secure adequate supplies, equipment and materials for the division and staff </li><li>Assist in developing the division's annual budget and manage related revenue and expenditures </li><li>Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for vehicles and equipment; maintain an inventory of significant supplies and equipment, provide regular reporting of performance measures and other data as required </li><li>Assist in public education concerning the beach parking permit program, Gulf Beach related City Ordinances, and the general health, safety and welfare of the public </li><li>Work with the Gulf Beach Maintenance Supervisor to assist in Seasonal project planning and implementation </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Minimum of 2 years related experience </li><li>Must obtain CPR/ First Aid/ AED Certification within 6 months of hire </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire. </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Basis of Rating</p> <p>Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.</p> <p>Closing Statement</p> <ul> <li>Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test. </li><li>Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi. </li><li>In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the general public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services. </li><li>This position is classified as "Safety Sensitive".
