In fulfillment of its motto, Lux et Spes ("Light and Hope"), the College cultivates in its students the competence to think, act, and lead with courage towards creating a more just and compassionate world.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Stonehill College invites applications for a Professor of Practice in Theatre to support our growing B.A. in Performing Arts with a Theatre concentration. We seek a collaborative artist-teacher with significant lighting and set design experience who will also serve as Production Manager and Technical Director for the Stonehill Theatre Company season.</p> <p>The successful candidate will join a dynamic, supportive department and contribute to the continued growth of the Theatre Arts program. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, production, mentorship, and program development.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Design scenery for the Stonehill Theatre Company season (2 productions). </li><li>Serve as Production Manager and Technical Director. </li><li>Teach a 4/4 load with releases for Mainstage Designs and Technical Direction. </li><li>Possible courses include: Stagecraft, Set Design, Lighting Design, Stage Management, Theatre History, Acting, Movement, and other areas of expertise. </li><li>Mentor and supervise students in technical theatre and production areas. </li><li>Maintain the scene shop, Hemingway Theatre, and other Theatre Arts spaces. </li><li>Manage Hemingway Theatre facilities and operations. </li><li>Participate in recruitment and outreach efforts for the Theatre Arts program. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Significant professional experience in scenic and lighting design, with technical direction expertise. </li><li>Commitment to collaborative program building and service to a growing undergraduate program. </li><li>MFA in Theatre or equivalent professional experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to manage production processes and mentor students in technical theatre. </li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands Work Environment Licenses/Certifications Competencies</p> <p>Posting Detail Information</p> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p>
