<p>THE POSITION</p> <p>Are you ready to showcase your expertise in boiler plant operations? The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix is seeking a skilled and motivated Corrections Plant Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage and maintain critical systems including steam boilers, heating systems, chilled water systems, cooling towers, and backup generators. If you are passionate about making a meaningful impact and advancing your career within a supportive, dedicated team, apply today to become an integral part of our facility operations.</p> <p>DESCRIPTION OF WORK</p> <p>In this position, you will be responsible for repairing and performing routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure optimal functionality. You will clean and maintain central air compressors in both the plant and boiler room and monitor hot water and chilled water expansion tanks to ensure they are operating at the correct pressures. You will identify and address issues, correct any deficiencies noted by the boiler inspector, and test various types of water, including chilled, condenser, hot, and condensate water. Additionally, you will keep detailed logs of testing activities and manage inventory for water treatment chemicals, reagents, and other essential supplies. You will also supervise inmate workers assigned to janitorial and maintenance tasks within the plant and ensure a safe and secure working environment.</p> <p>Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.</p> <p>Work Schedule and Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Full-time employment, 40 hours per week</p> </li><li> <p>Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.</p> </li><li> <p>Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.</p> </li><li> <p>This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.</p> </li><li> <p>Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $46,986.00 (before taxes).</p> </li><li> <p>You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
