Courses may focus on topics such as landscape maintenance, beekeeping, or floral design. This position supports learners seeking personal enrichment, job skills development, or entry into horticulture-related careers.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Develop and deliver engaging non-credit courses in horticulture that meet the needs of diverse adult learners. </li><li>Teach a variety of topics including, but not limited to: landscape design, beekeeping, or floral design. </li><li>Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations using real-world tools, materials, and horticultural techniques. </li><li>Ensure student understanding of proper safety practices and environmental stewardship. </li><li>Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and confidence. </li><li>Collaborate with staff to align course content with community or workforce needs. </li><li>Recommend materials, tools, and supplies necessary for course delivery. </li><li>Stay informed of trends and best practices in the horticulture industry. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching experience (kids/teens/adults/seniors) </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills </li><li>Ability to develop and deliver engaging and practical course content </li><li>Passion for teaching and a commitment to helping others achieve personal growth and enrichment </li></ul> <p>Schedule: Hours are generally nights and weekends.</p> <p>The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
