In addition to traditional school counselor responsibilities, the position contains a few expectations more commonly found in other administrative roles such as an AP or Dean of Students.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <p>Approximately 220 students on caseload</p> <p>Support classroom teachers with behavior intervention</p> <p>Develop student schedules</p> <p>Oversee 504 plans as well as district progress monitoring testing</p> <p>Be a strong supporter of the classroom teacher</p> <p>Assist Principal with supervision (activities, playground, hall duty, student discipline)</p> <p>Actively interact with students both in and out of the classroom</p> <p>Lead teachers in providing social and emotional learning</p> <p>Participate in grade level team meetings</p> <p>Ensure students have access to needed materials such as school supplies</p> <p>Serve as building homeless student liaison</p> <p>Serve as School Assessment Coordinator for all state assessments</p> <p>Any and all other duties as assigned</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree with a Colorado Department of Education School Counselor License is preferred </li><li>The Weld Re-9 School District will consider other combinations of education and work experience, as well as individuals enrolled in a Colorado school counseling preparation program </li><li>Previous experience teaching and/or working with middle school aged students is preferred </li><li>Candidates willing to go above and beyond basic contractual obligations preferred </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Salary range is $51,926.63-68,268.02 per year as of the time of this posting depending on education, years of teaching experience, and professional development credits. See the Licensed Salary Schedule under the Employment Opportunities tab. Salary schedules are updated annually in late spring. The district provides health insurance benefits including dental and vision, PERA retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability, an optional supplemental 401(k) plan, an employee assistance plan, a tuition reimbursement program, and the ability to enroll in supplemental insurances and savings accounts through a third-party vendor.
