<p>Join Utah Valley University's innovative Emerging Tech Laboratory and play a key role in advancing cutting-edge research. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Director to support research processes from conception to completion, contributing to the administration, editing, and publication of scholarly work. You will gain hands-on experience in managing the behind-the-scenes work that makes groundbreaking research possible, contributing to UVU's mission of fostering innovation and preparing students for the future.</p> <ul> <li>Support the preparation, editing, and submission of research publications, grant reports, and presentations.  </li><li>Assist the Director with administrative and operational tasks, including scheduling, documentation, and coordination of lab/program activities.  </li><li>Facilitate communications with institutional partners, sponsors, and collaborators; manage basic public-facing communication e.g., newsletters, web content.  </li><li>Track project timelines and deliverables; assist in progress reporting and record-keeping.  </li><li>Provide logistical support for events, workshops, and seminars hosted by the lab.  </li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>One year of relevant experience in administrative, project coordination, or research support roles. </p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Public Administration, Cybersecurity, National Security Studies, or Communications). </li><li>Graduate coursework in a relevant discipline.  </li><li>Experience supporting research labs, technical programs, or academic publishing.  </li><li>Familiarity with university administrative systems and policies. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <ul> <li> <p>Understanding of cybersecurity, technology research, national security, policy, law and higher education administrative operations. </p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with academic research processes and publishing tools (e.g., APA/IEEE style, citation management software). </p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with federal, state, and private national security and critical infrastructure stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with federal, state, and private critical infrastructure stakeholders.</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong organizational and time management skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management platforms. </p> </li></ul> <p>Abilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to perform a variety of administrative duties independently.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with diverse personalities in a dynamic environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently and collaboratively. </p> </li><li> <p>Ability to plan and anticipate potential changes and act accordingly.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage time efficiently.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively with program stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, donors, and community leaders.</p> </li></ul>
