<ol> <li> <p>Attend required adjunct faculty meetings and computer training sessions.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform the duties and functions of an instructor as they pertain to the teaching of courses.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare course materials, organize classes, keep student records, maintain classrooms and equipment, and other duties related to the instructional process.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all related and implied duties as may be directed.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Academic</p> <ol> <li> <p>Master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline).</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants with community college teaching experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants must possess an understanding and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants must have excellent references from previous employers and/or professors.</p> </li></ol> <p>Career-Technical</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline or associate's degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants with community college teaching experience preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants must possess an understanding and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.</p> </li><li> <p>Applicants must have excellent references from previous employers and/or professors.</p> </li></ol> <p>Licenses, Certificates or Registrations Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Shows initiative and acts independently to resolve problems, organize resources and establish priorities. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate in writing, by phone, and in person. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to achieve successful outcomes in handling difficult situations and students. </li><li>Demonstrates a love for their subject matter and online education. </li><li>Demonstrates sound knowledge of their subject matter. </li><li>Demonstrates excellent time management and record keeping skills. </li><li>Demonstrates promptness in completing instructor assignments and meeting deadlines. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to facilitate a classroom community with engaging tone and creativity. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <p>For consideration, a completed Holmes Community College on-line employment application is required.
