<p>Piper Companies is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) to support a growing technology organization in the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina area. The Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) role is hybrid and requires to be onsite in the office 2 days a week. The ideal candidate for the Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) is an experienced engineer with strong expertise in Node.js, Python, AWS, API development, infrastructure-as-code, and containerized environments.</p> <p>Responsibilities of the Backend Software Engineer (Node.js):</p> <ul> <li>Design and develop backend services and APIs using Node.js and Python. </li><li>Build and maintain integrations across internal and external systems. </li><li>Architect and support cloud-based solutions using AWS. </li><li>Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Terragrunt. </li><li>Utilize containerization and orchestration tools, including Docker and Kubernetes. </li><li>Work with NoSQL databases to design and optimize data models. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure backend features. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications of the Backend Software Engineer (Node.js):</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional backend engineering experience. </li><li>Strong proficiency in Node.js and experience with Python. </li><li>Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native development. </li><li>Practical experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, and IaC workflows. </li><li>Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments. </li><li>Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB. </li><li>Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and integrations. </li><li>Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control. </li></ul> <p>Compensation for the Backend Software Engineer (Node.js) includes:</p> <ul> <li>Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000 </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, Sick leave as required by law </li><li>Must be eligible to work in the United States </li></ul> <p>This job opens for applications on 02/16/2026.
