<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Director of Career Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership to SUNY Poly's Office of Workforce Development and directing a comprehensive program that guides career development, career counseling, programming and assistance with internship and employment opportunities. The Director will cultivate and foster internal and external partnerships to expand and support internship and other practical opportunities. The Director will oversee the Career Services budget in consultation with the Senior Director of Workforce Development and manage the data system used to track student internships and career opportunities.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the operation of the Career Services Office including program assessment, supervision of staff (support and graduate assistants) and an oversight of the departmental budget (in consultation with the Senior Director of Workforce Development). The Director works in collaboration with internal and external constituent groups to organize and promote opportunities for students through the utilization of resources such as hiring platforms, annual Career Fair(s) and other departmental programs. </li><li>The Director will meet individually with students to provide comprehensive career preparation support, including resume reviews, interviewing strategies, mentoring, and guidance on securing both paid and for-credit internships. Collaborate with business and industry partners to identify, coordinate, and promote internship opportunities that align with students' academic and career goals. </li><li>Work with campus and external constituents to enhance existing career development programs and employment opportunities. </li><li>Assist students/departments in promoting internal work study and student assistant placements </li><li>Participate in programming related to recruitment and retention of students (open house, orientation, accepted student days, classroom presentations) </li><li>Cultivate partnerships with employers and community agencies to establish project-based learning, capstone projects, internships and other experiential opportunities for students. </li><li>Collaborate with external partners (in collaboration with Vice President for External Relations) to establish solution-based projects which address real world needs and deficits within the organization or community. </li><li>Collaborate with the Colleges to secure internships and coordinate student placement. </li><li>Plan and execute presentation and celebration of project completion event, including poster display, development seminar(s) and recognition dinner. </li><li>Market experiential learning opportunities and outcomes to prospective and current students, highlighting the educational and potential career benefits. </li><li>Collaborate with campus partners in Academic Affairs and Student Affairs to ensure the accurate collection and reporting of data regarding student participation and outcomes, including internships, project-based learning, other experiential opportunities as well as employment offers; establish an assessment process. </li><li>Monitor participation such as number of students, majors represented and company sponsorship. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. </li><li>Experience working with diverse populations. </li><li>Previous supervisory experience </li><li>Experience in career development, career counseling and placement or a related field </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree preferred from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. </li><li>Managerial and supervisory experience is desirable. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Initial review of applications will begin 2 weeks after posting.
