<p>Job Summary</p> <p>PeaceHealth is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Surgical 8 for a Full Time, 0.90 FTE, Night position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $23.03 - $34.59. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. In this role, you'll be a vital part of the care team; supporting registered nurses and helping provide safe, respectful, and healing care to patients during a critical time in their recovery.</p> <p>Whether you're experienced in acute care or bringing strong fundamentals, work ethic, and a desire to serve others, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing your healthcare career in a mission-driven organization.</p> <p>This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure. </li><li>Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse. </li><li>Assist patient with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration. </li><li>Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed. </li><li>Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs. </li><li>Documents relevant patient care data </li><li>May provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 1 year Preferred: experience in an acute care facility and </li><li>Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs </li></ul> <p>Credentials</p> <ul> <li>Required: Certified Nurse Assistant - Washington and </li><li>Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates a courteous, caring, and understanding attitude towards patients, families, co-workers, visitors, volunteers, peers, and physicians. (Required) </li><li>Must be well organized, flexible and able to function effectively and independently as assigned. (Required) </li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment (Required) </li><li>Demonstrates creative problem-solving skills. (Required) </li><li>Excellent communication skills (Required) </li><li>Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette and customer service skills (Required) </li></ul> <p>Department / Location Specific Notes</p> <p>PHSW:</p> <ul> <li>Surgical Pre-OP: MAPWA required within 6 months of hire. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Lifting</p> <ul> <li>Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH). </li><li>Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures. </li><li>Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). </li><li>Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally. </li><li>Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. </li><li>Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently. </li><li>Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently. </li></ul> <p>Environmental Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles. </li><li>Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. </li></ul> <p>Mental/Visual</p> <ul> <li>Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). </li><li>Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. </li></ul> <p>Why PeaceHealth</p> <p>PeaceHealth is a nonprofit, mission-driven health system grounded in compassion, respect, stewardship, and service.
