<p>Shift available:</p> <p>2nd shift available - Mon-Fri (3pm-11pm)</p> <p>Temporary Training on 1st shift</p> <p>About the Position:</p> <p>The Facilities Technician will ensure that data center equipment is operating optimally to ensure availability and reliability of services to customers. This includes electrical systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), batteries, as well as mechanical systems such as chillers, computer room air-conditioning units (CRAC), pumps, condensers and more.</p> <p>What you do daily:</p> <ul> <li>Manage all aspects of the Mechanical and Electrical operations within the Data Centers, to include: </li><li>Install AC and DC circuits from PDU to Customer Cabinets </li><li>Support and supervise service vendors during installations, maintenance and repairs </li><li>Monitor and keep HVAC systems operational </li><li>Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes </li><li>Respond quickly to incidents or breakdowns affecting critical systems </li><li>Carry out regular visual inspections of all data center equipment and document technical reports </li><li>Monitor and respond to alarms related to the monitoring system (DCIM) </li><li>Help update reports, instruction manuals, procedures, etc. </li><li>Keep technical areas clean </li><li>Actively participate in the company's ongoing training program. </li><li>Maintain detailed site specification documentation of As-Builts, Single-Lines and pre-sales spec sheets </li><li>Responsible for leading the troubleshooting process and repairs in case of events or equipment failure. Make recommendations to prevent recurrence of such events </li><li>Review and approve all facilities maintenance tasks/MOPS when required as part of change management system </li></ul> <p>What makes you a good fit: (Qualifications)</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 5 years work experience in managing mission critical facilities. A combination of education and experience is acceptable </li><li>Experience and knowledge in a data center environment (BMS, SCADA, Uptime Institute, etc.) (asset) </li><li>Basic computer skills required (Office 365) </li><li>DCCA Certification/ equivalent Preferred </li><li>Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment </li><li>Ability to work rigorously, independently and proactively </li><li>Demonstrate a willingness to improve knowledge </li><li>Experience with cooling subsystems such as Chillers, CRAC, CRAH, etc </li><li>Experience in voltages up to 480 volts required, medium voltages preferred </li><li>Ability to read and comprehend single line diagram </li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced 24/7 environment with flexibility to work after-hours and weekends when needed and available for rotating on-call support. </li><li>Must be able to routinely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds </li></ul>
