<p>Part Time (.4 FTE) High School Latin teacher at Westford Academy Start Date: August, 2025 Westford Academy's World Language Department is seeking qualified candidates who are engaging and dynamic classroom teachers with experience in developing student-centered curriculum. The Westford Latin program starts in 6th grade and continues through level 5 in 12th grade. Our program provides students with the opportunity to take the National Latin exam, to be members of the Junior Classical League, to earn the Seal of Biliteracy, and to travel to Italy. Qualified candidates will be experienced in teaching the grammar and vocabulary of Classical Latin with reading proficiency as the ultimate goal. Candidates will be comfortable teaching ancient mythology, Roman culture, and Latin derivatives. Familiarity with the Cambridge Latin or Suburani program is helpful. Position Requirements and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in the field of Latin/Classics, Master's Degree preferred </li><li>Teach 2 sections of Latin (.4 FTE) </li><li>Candidates should be familiar with the ACTFL Standards and the 2021 MA World Language Frameworks </li><li>Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of instructional methods and technology, including GoogleClassroom, Google Tools, and PowerSchool </li><li>Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues </li><li>Ability to foster a classroom learning environment that is engaging, safe, and focused on increasing the interpretive proficiency of our students </li><li>Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners </li><li>Assess the progress of students towards curricular goals on a regular basis using a variety of assessment types </li><li>Provide written assessments and evaluations when necessary for students with special needs and participate in IEP meetings as required. </li><li>Valid Massachusetts DESE teaching licensure, Foreign Language [Latin and Classical Humanities], Grades 5-12 required </li></ul> <p>Requested by: Stephanie Grabowski-Devlin, World Language Curriculum Coordinator 30 Patten Rd.
